MARLBORO —,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]
A Marlborough man sobbed yesterday as he pleaded not guilty to charges of beating and trying to murder his stepson.
Despite the pleas from Pablo Flores, 45, that he is "a changed man,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]," Judge David Cunis ordered him held on $10,000 cash bail, citing an the 18-year sentence Flores had served for manslaughter.
According to records on file at Marlborough District Court, Flores was arrested Sunday morning when police received a call about a fight between Flores and his stepson around 7:52 a.m.
When police arrived, the alleged victim, who was bleeding heavily from a 3- to 4-inch wound on the left side of his head, answered the door.
Police said Flores' wife, Lauren Flores, said the argument started when Flores woke up because his stepson was making noise in the bathroom. She said Flores pounded on the bathroom door to get her son's attention. The stepson punched a hole in the door,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], police said, and Flores punched back. The two then continued to fight through the door,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], until the stepson broke the door off its hinges,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], police said.
illing opted for a Miskeen shirt with a skull on it at his arraignment. Which did nothing to promote an image of youthful innocence for the then-18-year-old, who also sported the classic arraignment accessory of a shirt/towel/jacket tossed over the head.
You've got to give former Marlborough mayoral candidate Christopher "The Skunk" Antal credit for not going for the towel-over-head at his Thursday arraignment on charges he punched a woman.
The Skunk, a onetime pro wrestler, wore a jacket bearing his name to his court hearing. Better than a "message" T-shirt, but probably not the best way to distance oneself from the charges.
The evidence presented in our local courtrooms leads this mom to two conclusions.
We have more than a few contenders if a network casts a "What Not to Wear ... to Your Arraignment" reality TV show.
And subpar underwear is the least of our problems.
