Temat postu: Institute Aims to Be Global Skills Provider

As a professional training body, Shanghai Zhangjiang Institute for Innovation has the ambitious aim of providing internationally skilled individuals,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], not just for Shanghai but also for the whole of the country. It is committed to not only cultivating raw talents, but also to creating a sustainable resource of skilled and highly trained individuals.
Established by the Shanghai Zhangjiang (Group) Co Ltd in October 2006 in the Zhangjiang Hi-tech Park, one of China's most successful hi-tech zones, the institute provides post-degree vocational training and has also set up a mechanism for the exchange of international training resources and business projects.
In order to establish an international exchange platform for the cultivation of skilled individuals, it has been cooperating with a number of domestic institutions and universities, including the prestigious Shanghai Jiao Tong University. It is also working with a number of overseas educational bodies,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], notably the Massachusetts Technology Center,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the University of Massachusetts,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Stanford University, Boston University, Nanyang Technological University, Towson University, the China Europe International Business School and Canada's York University.
This cooperation involves placing Chinese college students and post-degree on training courses at overseas universities or businesses, as well as securing the opportunity for overseas college students and postgraduates to attend training courses in China.
The institute is also aiming to promote exchanges in technology and skill-development between Chinese and foreign firms and industry associations. It believes this will create exchange opportunities for Chinese and overseas professionals. It will also provide an introduction for foreign firms and overseas technology entrepreneurs into China's national conditions, policies and investment environment.
The institute currently has seven departments - a software and IT branch, a biomedicine branch, a modern agriculture branch, a cultural and creativity branch, a financial services branch, a microelectronics branch and a technology start-up training branch.
It also has four branches,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], including the sites at the Lu Jiazui Software Park, Jiangsu Taicang, Zhejiang Zhijiang and Fudan International.
Over the past two years, the institute has trained nearly 40,000 people for its partner companies and has also established a resource integration platform for technology start-ups in the Zhangjiang Hi-tech Park. It also provides training for government staff and consultation for government policy-making initiatives.
It was designated by the Ministry of Commerce and the Shanghai municipal government as a national level outsourcing skills training base. It was also approved by the Shanghai Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau as Shanghai's biomedical and IT engineers learning center. China's Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security has also confirmed it as a model practice center for college graduates.
The institute has now become the preferred business partner of many other social training institutions and has provided considerable benefit to these institutions through its strong brand awareness and unquestioned competence in training.
