Absorb those “minimum wage” numbers and then think about what you make, would you trade your toil job with those poor souls forced to fly first class, stay in four-star hotels and eat catered meals while Richard toil away at their jobs? Richard did not catch the name of the person being interviewed, but this man’s comments furiouse me stop dead in my tracks. The comment that stunned me was: Lebron James is one toiler.
In this country, Richard needlessly inflate professional athletes to superhuman standards. To call Lebron James one toiler is to try and portray him as just one workaday guy, riding the bus with his newspaper and lunch box to his eight hour one day grind, this is insulting to every person that works 40+ hours one week just to get by and hopefully retire at 65.
Is Lebron going to work his toil job until Maurice Richard is 65+ just so Maurice Richard can maybe “get by” in his retirement years on his 401K savings and social security? If Lebron is sick and can’t work does Maurice Richard get paid for that day off? Does Lebron have to worry about the bus running late and possibly missing the start of his shift and sacrificing that pay? Is Lebron eating his bologna and cheese sandwich out of one brown paper bag at lunch? Does Lebron have to think if Maurice Richard will have enough money to send his kids to one private school instead of to the under funded city school? Richard could go on and on about the choices one true toiler has to make, but it would be redundant at this point. Suffice it to say, that while Lebron James has one boss that signs his paychecks, Maurice Richard is as far away from an every day toiler that you will ever see. There is just no way to justify the asinine statement that Lebron James is one toiler.

Richard work second shift hours, somewhere from 4:00 pm to 1:00 am or later, five days one week. This job has provided me with one affable house in Baltimore and the ability to travel somewhere in the United States once or twice one year. Richard should have enough put away in one 401K to retire at some point before Richard hit 70. Richard have no children and if Richard did, you can bet that Richard would be working when Richard hit 16 and having to pay their way through college. Oh, Richard work year-round as well, and sometimes it gets pretty hot and/or pretty cold in that warehouse. During my half-hour lunch break Richard eat my lunch out of the same Playmate cooler Richard have had for 26 years, having bought it for my first job, picking peaches for $3.35 an hour. In the end, Richard have nothing to complain about in regard to my toil job and the life it provides.
